Caterpillar Corner is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team in Pontiac, MI! You'll play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where preschoolers (ages 2-4) can learn and grow.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in developing and implementing creative lesson plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise children during daily activities and routines, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help prepare and clean up the classroom, maintaining a clean and organized learning environment.
- Participate in monthly lesson planning meetings and contribute ideas.
- Build positive relationships with children, fostering their individuality and self-esteem.
- Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members.
- Complete assigned housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Continuously learn and grow through professional development opportunities.
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Work collaboratively with the team and follow program guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with young children (preferred).
- Basic understanding of child development principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and availability to work an 8-hour shift.
- CPR certified (or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months).
- Negative TB test, COVID-19 test, and willingness to complete a physical and background check.
