Caterpillar Corner is seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to lead our team in Pontiac, MI! You'll play a critical role in shaping the educational journey of our preschoolers (ages 2-4) by creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. As a lead teacher, you'll develop and implement a creative curriculum, supervise children, collaborate with staff, and build strong relationships with parents.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards.
  • Lead the planning and execution of daily activities and routines, ensuring they promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Supervise children throughout the day, guaranteeing their safety and well-being.
  • Create a warm and inviting classroom environment that fosters exploration and learning.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children, celebrating their individuality and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate effectively with assistant teachers and other staff members to create a cohesive learning environment.
  • Communicate openly and professionally with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress.
  • Continuously learn and grow through professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Manage the classroom budget and resources effectively.
  • Oversee classroom cleanliness and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working as a preschool teacher (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and create a positive learning environment.
  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Passion for early childhood education and a desire to make a positive impact on young children.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work an 8-hour shift.
  • CPR certified (or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months).
  • Negative TB test, COVID-19 test, and willingness to complete a physical and background check.
